Washington vs Kiefer: Warriors Roll to Sixth Straight Semifinal

WASHINGTON — Powered by a punishing ground game and timely strikes through the air, Washington ripped off 36 unanswered points to beat Kiefer 36–3 in a Class 2A-I quarterfinal Friday night at Reed Field.

Kiefer opened the scoring with a 23-yard Jameson Coulter field goal late in the first quarter, but Washington answered immediately. Javen Hall barreled in for the Warriors’ first touchdown, flipping momentum and sparking an offensive surge that wouldn’t slow down the rest of the night.

From there, the Warriors took control. Josiah Dickerson punched in back-to-back second-quarter touchdowns behind a dominant offensive line, stretching the lead to 20–3 while the Washington defense held Kiefer to just five first downs. Through the air, Creed Barrett worked efficiently, connecting with Brady Mays and Case Alexander to extend drives and keep the Trojans off balance.

Washington slammed the door after halftime. Hall added his second score in the third quarter, and Barrett capped the night late — dropping a strike to Kade Babcock in the end zone to make it 36–3. Mays, Alexander, and Kyle Sides handled steady receiving work throughout, with Babcock providing the exclamation point.

The win sends Washington to the semifinals for the sixth straight season and marks Brad Beller’s 175th career win at Washington and 199th overall, placing him one victory away from the 200 milestone.
