Alex falls at Cyril: Longhorns drop district matchup, 56–6

CYRIL — Luke Parker ran for 72 yards and a touchdown, but Alex couldn’t slow down a fast-starting Cyril offense in a 56–6 road loss Thursday night in Class B-II district two play.

Cyril struck early and often behind quarterback Nash Harman, who totaled five first-half touchdowns — three rushing and two passing. The Pirates jumped out to a 26–0 lead in the opening quarter behind Harman’s long runs, a short score from Jeremih Alberty, and a 29-yard scoop-and-score from Robert Hannah.

Alex got on the board in the second quarter when Parker punched in a six-yard touchdown run, finishing off a steady drive that included short completions from quarterback Kaisyn Reeves to Rhiley Landeros and Karter Seward.

Harman later connected with Braxon Hughes for a 55-yard strike and Bravyn Thompson for an eight-yard score before halftime, extending the lead beyond the 45-point margin to start the mercy-rule clock in the second half.
