Championship Bound: Washington, Blanchard Take Care of Business in Semifinals

OKLAHOMA CITY — Washington handled Lindsay 11–1 in six innings and Blanchard powered past Tuttle 8–3, sending both local programs to Championship Saturday at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex.

Game 1: Washington vs Lindsay (Class 3A Semifinal)

Washington struck first on a two-run single from Presley Lucas in the opening frame. Emersyn Massey’s sacrifice bunt made it 3–0 in the second, and Isabella Castillo punched an 0–2 RBI single to center in the third for a 4–0 cushion.

The Lady Warriors slammed the door with a five-run sixth—four hits plus a costly error—featuring another Lucas RBI and a two-RBI knock from Castillo. In the circle, Payton Blackburn overpowered hitters before Ellie Musgrove finished it off.

Tuttle landed the first punch on a Chesney Monroe RBI single, but Blanchard flipped the script with a six-run, six-hit third. Emma Shutrump’s three-RBI single was the dagger, and the Lady Lions never looked back.

Rylee Black spun a complete game to steady things late, while Bailey Uhlenhake stacked three hits and Shutrump and Finley Lockwood drove in three apiece as the Lady Lions closed out their Tri-City rivals.
