OKLAHOMA CITY — The Class 3A and 4A State Tournaments opened Thursday at Devon Park, with Washington, Lindsay, Blanchard, and Tuttle all punching their tickets to Friday’s semifinals.
Washington 8, Perry 1
The Washington Lady Warriors opened Class 3A state with an 8–1 win over Perry, powered by a three-run third inning and crisp defense that turned two double plays.
Isabella Castillo sparked The Dub in the second with a run-scoring triple to the gap. In the third, Ava Salcedo ripped a two-run single down the right-field line before Julie Hoehner launched a two-run homer to center.
Payton Blackburn set the tone with five scoreless frames, and Ellie Musgrove closed out the final two innings to cap a clean, 11-hit performance.

Lindsay broke through in the third after an error and a Cheyenne Boatwright two-run single. Addi Dodson then delivered the dagger with a three-run homer to center in the fourth.
Flood scattered four hits with no walks in a complete-game shutout, silencing a Bethel lineup that couldn’t string together any momentum.

In Class 4A, the Blanchard Lady Lions erupted early and never looked back, taking down rival Newcastle 10–1.
Bailey Uhlenhake set the tone with a three-run homer in the first, followed by a two-run single from Ali Cook. The Lions tacked on three more in the second behind RBI doubles from Finley Lockwood and Keira Scott, and Peyton Hector added an inside-the-park homer in the third.
Rylee Black tossed a complete-game five-hitter, striking out six to keep Blanchard rolling.

A defensive miscue opened the floodgates before Avery Laird, Chesnee Monroe, and Grace Mahan strung together three consecutive RBI hits to seize control.
Laird went the distance in the circle, striking out six and allowing just five hits in the shutout.
