Lady Lions shut out Cache, stay perfect in district play

BLANCHARD — Rylee Black was dominant in the circle Thursday, ringing up 10 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout as the Blanchard Lady Lions defeated the Cache Lady Bulldogs 4–0 in a pivotal 4A-2 matchup. The right-hander scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and allowed no runs over 7 innings.

Blanchard struck first in the opening frame when Keira Scott laced a two-run triple to the gap. The Lady Lions added another in the second after a Cache miscue and later tacked on an insurance run to make it 4–0—plenty for Black, who repeatedly worked ahead and stranded traffic.

Cache starter Kadielynne Fisher kept her team within reach, covering 6.0 IP with 4 H, 4 R (2 ER), 3 K, 4 BB.

At the plate (Blanchard): Scott (1-for-3, 2 RBI, 3B) led the way, while Finley Lockwood, Ali Cook, and Emma Shutrump each added a hit.

At the plate (Cache): Madison Lema went 2-for-3 to pace the Bulldogs.

The victory gives Blanchard the head-to-head edge in the first meeting between the district unbeatens and keeps the Lady Lions perfect in 4A-2 (now 6–0). Cache falls to 7–1 in district play. The rematch comes next week.
