WASHINGTON — The three-time defending Class 2A-I state champions entered 2025 riding a 44-game winning streak, and they wasted no time adding to it. Washington opened Zero Week with a commanding 35–6 win over Community Christian, once again showing the balance and toughness that has defined their dynasty run.
Game Summary
Quarterback Creed Barrett got the Warriors rolling in the first quarter, finding Case Alexander downfield for a 51-yard touchdown. A misfired snap over the Royals’ quarterback added two more points on a safety, and Josiah Dickerson bulldozed his way into the end zone on an 8-yard run to stretch the lead to 16–0.
Community Christian finally broke through late in the half with a 29-yard field goal by Lucas Murlowe, but Washington answered before the break to carry a 23–3 halftime cushion.
The Warriors kept their rhythm in the third quarter. Barrett called his own number on a 12-yard touchdown run, and later, backup quarterback Kinser Scott stepped in and delivered a 27-yard scoring strike to Alexander to push the lead to 35–3.
Murlowe added his second field goal of the night in the fourth, but that was all the Royals could muster against Washington’s swarming defense.
The Warriors (1–0) piled up 364 total yards of offense — 253 rushing and 111 passing — while keeping Community Christian out of the end zone.
Up next: Washington officially opens Week One on the road at Sulphur.
