The Heart of Oklahoma Tournament returns this week for its third year, once again co-hosted by Washington and Purcell. The three–day event runs Thursday through Saturday, bringing together a deep field of small–school programs from across the state.
Local flavor will be strong once again, with Washington, Purcell, Tuttle, Lindsay, Blanchard, and Bridge Creek all in the field. Washington enters as the defending champion after topping Lindsay in last year’s title game, while Blanchard secured third place. Other area teams, including Purcell and Tuttle, will be looking to make deeper runs.
The tournament format stays true to its roots: two days of pool play set the stage for Saturday’s placement games. Both host sites remain active throughout the weekend, with games split between Washington and Purcell. In its inaugural year, the championship finals were played at Purcell, while last season’s titles shifted to Washington — a tradition that rotates while keeping both communities at the center of the action.

Every team is guaranteed multiple games, ensuring full slates at both sites from morning through evening, capped by championship contests on one end and additional placement games on the other.
